The Maritime Institute of Holistic Esthetics operates a training and treatment centre servicing a variety of clients. All educational programs strive to provide an holistic view of beauty that encompasses skincare, lifestyle counseling, health and wellness.

The Institute was established by Maureen Naddaf-Serroul with the goal of assisting in the development of healthy lifestyle habits and positive self-esteem; and a commitment to providing the highest level of occupational training in the field of esthetics.

Our school is registered with the Nova Scotia Department of Education, the Examining Board of Natural Medicine Practitioners, and the Nova Scotia Cosmetology Association. The Institute is also a member in high standing with the Provincial and National Association of Private Career Colleges.

School Description

The Maritime Institute encompasses an ecological and holistic environment. The main conference room is dominated by large cathedral windows that overlook the scenic Sydneys' harbour. Situated directly below the conference room is the instructional heart of the institute. This large room is utilized for classroom learning, teaching and art displays.

Outstanding features include a huge nutritional kitchen, main dining room and library that display the beauty of the waters below. Throughout the hallways are several nicely decorated units for student residence and/or weekend retreats.

Providing esthetic services in the spa

Beyond the residence area is our treatment center and spa, used by a variety of clients. On the job training is an important component to the successful operation and function of the Institute. Students have the opportunity to experientially provide esthetic services, promote healthy lifestyle habits, and learn the fundamental operating practices of a professional establishment.
